Fingerspelling practice #27

Today we worked in the computer lab on the movie maker project with the student's QRF fingerspelling production tests. Students are to cut and paste a phrase or slogan using the letters from their fingerspelling video. They have until the end of class on Wednesday to finish.

Quiz on "Seeing Voices" Introduction and Chapter 1.
Class time to work on glossing and typing glossed versions.

Fingerspelling test # 26.

Students worked independently on finishing Chaper 1 in "Seeing Voices" and on finishing their drafts or glossing their "My Summer Break" projects.

All drafts for "My Summer Break" project are due Monday. Mrs. G will not review any more drafts after Monday. Quiz on Chapter 1 of "Seeing Voices" on Monday.

Today we reviewed vocabulary for unit 6 and did the Calendar section of the unit 6 packet from Signing Naturally. I returned drafts for the "My Summer" project. 5th period had an earthquake evacuation drill.

Collected Parent signature slips for Curriculum night.
Showed students the FS movie of their class from Curriculum night.
Demonstrated IHS ASL website and the resources there.

Worked in the computer lab and each student self-assessed their "The Quiet Purple Lizard" fingerspelling production test. Student tests are on the student server.

Walked students through importing their video tests and manipulating vidoe files using Windows Movie Maker.
Students are to think of a slogan or saying (at least 5-6 words) that "is G rated" for a video file project.

Fingerspelling practice #26.

Continued the book "Seeing Voices". Students will read the Preface and Chapter 1. Take notes and you can use them on the quiz. I will collect the notes after the quiz.

Distributed curriculum night parent signature sheet that's worth 10 points if returned tomorrow.



Returned 2nd drafts of "My Summer Break" project to period 6 only. All re-writes are due tomorrow. Everyone else can begin glossing. Double space your hand or typewritten assignment. Write the English and leave room for the gloss. Use different colors for the English and the gloss.

Distributed the World Languages Student Reading Log. Students will record all reading for ASL on this log and I will collect them at the end of the quarter.
Began the book "Seeing Voices". Students will read the Preface and Chapter 1. Take notes and you can use them on the quiz. I will collect the notes after the quiz.
